Monotype and Monoprinting

This was a really simple workshop introducing monotypes and monoprinting to adults.

A monotype is a print technique where ink is transferred from a surface (e.g. Glass or perspex sheet) directly to paper via pressure on the reverse of the print. The technique is used by artists, such as UCA alumnus Tracey Emin.  The results are unpredictable and textually interesting and the content of the image is only partly due to the hand of the artist, so negating the 'I can't draw' response that often puts adults off experimenting with their creativity.

The workshop was run by local artist Danielle Wright in conjunction with the New Art Centre, Chatham.
