Costing and Pricing

Pricing and costing still remains a grey area for many craftspeople and yet getting it right it is pivotal to the success of a business.

The workshop covered finding a formula that works for you, scoping the bigger picture to see how many designs you need to sell in order to make your business viable, reducing costs, the implications of being VAT registered and whether you are claiming all you're entitled to for tax purposes.

This workshop was delivered by Dan Maier who works in textiles, wood, paper, metal and plastics and has a reputation for innovation, high quality, reliability and integrity.  Her work is commissioned for interiors, Theatre & TV, store displays and advertising.

After a successful career in lighting design and production for the retail market, she now focuses on one-off pieces and limited editions.  Clients include Harvey Nichols, Liberty, Heals, Purves & Purves, John Lewis Partnership, Geary's, Rodeo Drive, L.A., Wallis, The V&A Museum, The Big Breakfast, Channel 4, BBC, The Times, Daily Mail Group, Ideal Home Show, AMV Advance and Royal Caribbean International.
